Twilight Social Racing

Whitsunday Sailing Club holds twilight races on most Wednesday afternoons during the year.

The race is scheduled to start at 1630hrs and all members and visiting yachts are welcome to join in. Entry is $15 per race and entry forms are available at club reception.

If you are new to Airlie Beach, or would like to join us, learn to sail and meet new people, our boats often have crewing opportunities on board. If you are interested, come down to the club by 3:00pm on Wednesday afternoon, and we will endeavour to get you a ride. Be aware that there are only limited places available.

If you are not a member of the club, or do not have an Australian Sailing number, you will need to take out a SailPASS membership, which entitles you to be a member of the club for the day, and covers you with personal accident insurance while on the water.  The cost of a daily SailPASS is $15.00.

The Races are generally around a triangle course, with the Multihulls (Div 1) and faster Monohulls (Div 2) sailing three laps, while smaller or slower monos sail two laps of the course.

Don’t forget to come back to the club after the race to enjoy some refreshments and meet your fellow competitors.
